Option to Link Aadhar with PAN removed from E-filing website homepage | Due date for Aadhar linking extended | Income tax website on planned maintenance till 10:00 pm

As we know today is the last date to link Aadhar and PAN. Further CBDT has introduced penalty for non linking of Aadhar with PAN of Rs. 1,000.

Till now one could visit Income tax e-filing website and on the home page there was an option to link PAN with Aadhar. Link for the same is: https://www1.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/e-FilingGS/Services/LinkAadhaarHome.html

However as of now there is no option to link Aadhar with PAN on homepage of website and same has been removed as can be seen from area highlighted in the image above.

Further one can only visit homepage of website, as you click on any of the services it just shows site not working.

Hence, now people are not sure as to how they can link their aadhar with PAN.

Further on the TRACES website of Income tax department it shows that website is under scheduled maintenance from 19:00 to 22:00. Image of same is as below:

Further the due date for Linking of Aadhar and PAN has been extended to 30.06.2021 and due date for issuing notice u/s 148 has been extended to 30.04.2021 as can be seen in tweet below:

It is important to note that till now website is not working properly and due date for filing revised return has not been extended and hence many people are thinking to submit the revised return via e-mail to the assessing officer.
