New President and Vice-President of ICAI for 2023-24

The Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) today elected its new President & Vice-President for the term 2023-24.

CA. Aniket Sunil Talati has been elected as the President and CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal has been elected as the Vice-President of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India w.e.f. February 12, 2023.

Brief Profile of CA. Aniket Sunil Talati, President, ICAI & CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal, Vice- President, ICAI are as under:

 

CA. Aniket Sunil Talati
President, ICAI (2023-24)

A man of refined thought-process, quick understanding and sharp vision, CA. Aniket Sunil Talati is elected as the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the term 2023-24. Respected for his strong organizational skills and deep insight in the affairs of profession, CA. Aniket Sunil Talati has contributed to the cause of profession from various professional perspectives.

He is the Director of ICAI Accounting Research Foundation (ICAI ARF), Indian Institute of Insolvency Professionals of ICAI (IIIPI) and Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) India and the member of various other Committees, Boards and Directorates of ICAI. CA. Aniket Sunil Talati is at the forefront of Digital Transformation within ICAI, and numerous digital Initiatives launched under him stand testimony to this fact. CA. Aniket Sunil Talati is the Technical Advisor to the ICAI’s Nominee on the PAIB Advisory Group of IFAC and Technical Advisor to the IFAC Board Member. IFAC is the global organization for the accountancy profession. Founded in 1977, IFAC has more than 175 members and associates in more than 130 countries and jurisdictions, representing more than 3 million accountants employed in public practice, education, government service, industry and commerce. He is also appointed as the Board member of SAFA (South Asian Federation of Accountants).

A man of grass-root understanding of the matters and respected for his down-to-earth approach to the issues at hand among his professional colleagues, CA. Aniket Sunil Talati has a surpassing ability to deal with a variety of difficult situations.

Having an exceptional ability to bring out a range of alternative solutions on the table in any given situation, he has to his credit successful closures of many a taskforce and time-bound non-standing groups and teams. Being thoroughly conversant with the professional concerns and demands of his times, CA. Aniket Sunil Talati has authored relevant books, articles etc.

Being Bachelor of Commerce from Mumbai University and a Rank holder from Gujarat University, CA. Aniket Sunil Talati further pursued Master of Commerce. He has led the cause of profession through various committees of the Branch & Regional Councils of ICAI.

 

He is one of the youngest President of ICAI and son of CA Sunil Talati who was also past president of ICAI.

 

CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal
Vice-President, ICAI (2023-24)

A thorough academician, with a consistent pursuit towards achieving excellence and a technically affluent professional who has been significantly contributing to the cause of the profession, CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal has been elected as the Vice-President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the term 2023-24. CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal is a practicing Chartered Accountant since last 24 years. He is also a Company Secretary & DISA from ICAI. He was elected to the 23rd, 24th & 25th Central Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India 3 times in a row.

As the Chairman of the Professional Development Committee of ICAI, implemented Bank Branch Audit Software and conceptualised and implemented UDIN, a landmark reform of ICAI. He was also the Convenor of Group constituted to implement UDIN concept in all SAARC Countries (Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan & Maldives). As Chairman of the Ethical Standard Board of ICAI in 2019, he was instrumental towards bringing the revised the Code of Ethics after a gap of 10 years. He has also been the Chairman of Committee for Members in Industry and Business & Tax Audit Quality Review Board of ICAI wherein major refinements in the processes were implemented.

He is a regular speaker on the topics- Code of Ethics, Professional Opportunities, Students Motivation Sessions and also socially equally active with Lions Club, Barabazar Library, JCI, Friends of Tribal Societies, Awantika etc.
