UDIN was a tool generated to verify whether a certificate has been signed by a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and any certificate issued by a Chartered Accountant needs to have a UDIN.
Generally the due date for generating UDIN for a certificate or document is 15 days from the date of issue of certificate.
Recently due to the issues faced by Chartered Accountants this due date was further extended to 60 days.

However, today while generating UDIN for Tax audit report and various other certificates Chartered Accountants have been facing various error as they are receiving OTP for generating UDIN but unable to successfully generate UDIN.
Further, UDIN website has also mentioned that if CA’s are facing issue that they are unable to find FRN in drop down they can mention “NA” under FRN.
“Kind Attention: While generating UDIN, the related FRNs are not appearing in the drop down. As a temporary measure, kindly select Not Applicable (NA) option from the drop down and mention the FRN in the document description and proceed for generating UDIN.”
FRN was made mandatory recently from 01.02.2022. To read more CLICK HERE: FRN is now compulsory field for UDIN Generation from 12.00 am of 1st February 2022 – Taxontips
If you are also facing such issue it is advisable to file Tax audit report without generating UDIN as one get’s 60 days to generate UDIN and further UDIN is not required to be mentioned while filing 3CD as there is no option to mention UDIN while filing 3CD.
Hence, one should file 3CD without UDIN as the due date for filing 3CD is 15.02.2022 and hence UDIN website might be facing lot of traffic because of people generating UDIN for Tax audit report.
